Charlotte Barrington's Book 'Through Eighty Years.'

Viscountess Charlotte Barrington

Charlotte Barrington left her mark on the village of Shrivenham in several ways. She was a formidable lady of her times, intelligent and very influencial. This listing is about the lady herself and heritage society member Vivien Moss has researched and skilfully encapsulated in a short biography, who this lady was and from whence she came.

Charlotte also wrote a book as an auto-biography called 'Through Eighty Years.' She died on 22nd October, 1935, with her book ready for printing so never actually got to see it. Her son John Henry Stopford Birch wrote a personal note at the beginning of the book which was published the following year.
