A covering letter from Val Harvey who donated the documents to SHS

Nina Buckland

These documents were passed to the Heritage Society in an envelope which had the words written on it as follows: From Val Harvey, (daughter of Dora, the eldest Benford girls. There is also a letter from Val Harvey.

Nina Buckland's autographs from Shrivenham School and other photographs from around the same time. Nina was one of the five 'Benford Girls' who lived at Pound Stores, Shrivenham, who went on to work in the shop for almost fifty years!

Although this is an 'Autograph Book', it doesn't contain signatures, but rather little rhymes and anecdotes. It also has delighful little drawings by various people. It dates from the 1930s and in particular 1937/38, just before the outbreak of World War 2.
