The Coate Water Collection

This listing consists of several files that contain hundreds of notes, photographs and documents on Coate village and Coate Water and all things associated with it. Much of it was collated by Sheila Povey and the whole collection was donated by Christine Hinton. 

Included in the information:- the Bath & West shows that were held there in the early and mid 20th century for many years. The tiny surrounding villages like Hodson, pictures of the cottages, profiles of the inhabitants, the local football teams. Coate Stone Circle, survey, drawings. The building of the M4 motorway. Richard Jefferies, who he was, his writings. There are also many photographs in general.
