The Banner, Swagger stick and President's collar, the Royal Charter and general rules

Synopsis of the local branch history by Don Allen

A General Meeting was called on 13th August 1929

Agreed to form a Branch of the British Legion and to be called 'Shrivenham & District' (Note not Royal at this point)

By the end of World War II the membership numbers were 120 in 1946

The numbers gradually decreased and by 1960 there were approx 60/70 members

By the end of the century there were approx 30/40 members

By the year 2010 there were only 26 members with but a very few of them active

In 2012 the Shrivenham Branch was amalgamted with the Farindon Branch
