Stallpits Farm - Shrivenham

The Manor of Stallpits was one of the pricipal manors of Shrivenham and subsequently one of the oldest. Because there is much to learn of this manor, this listing is designed to cover the farm, and seperate listings have been created for the manor (See papers N315 and book N220).

Contained within this listing is also a charming photograph on a card that was sent to us by Marcus Lewis from Fowey in Cornwall. His hobby is collecting photographs of his local area, and he came across this one of a dog called Puffin. It also states that it was mounted for June Colledge of Stallpits, Shrivenham, Berks. The photographer was Fred Kitto who was well-known in the early 20th century, but the date of this photo is uncertain.

Marcus carried out some further research and discovered an Email address for a nephew of June Colledge and also learned that she is still alive, aged 97.

The Colledge family lived at Stallpits Farm from 1920 to 1952. Captain John Theodore Colledge the Farmer/Proprietor.
