Alteration of Tithe Rent Charge at Fernham

This document dates from the 1930s and concerns land at Fernham. It seems to have been brought about by a request from a landowner to have the land re-valued for the purposes of reducing the tithe payments. This system has now been abolished by act of parliament.

One of the maps includes Ringdale Manor, at one time owned by Sir James Walker, who's brother was Major Walker of the large Ford dealership in Swindon known as Walker Jackson.

At that time, the hamlet of Fernham was located within the Parish of Shrivenham
