Cottages at Watchfield

When researching for historical information on properties, it is often frustrating to discover that occupier details exist but the location does not. This is especially true for villages. In small communities, everyone knew each other and exactly where they lived; an address was unnecessary and that most often was the case with documentation. It's not until the late 19th and early 20th centuries that attention began to be given to location. But occasionally we find help in the form of auction notices and sometimes a sale catalogue that has survived. This is the case with three cotages that are located on the high street at Watchfield.
