This listing forms part of the Dils & Schwartz Collection which is composed of all the notes from the very in-depth research carried out by those two ladies, for the publication of their book, 'Tudor and Stuart Shrivenham.' It is a remarkable collection and contains a huge amount of material, much of it translated from the original latin in which it was written.

This particular file contains information concerning anything other than the parish of shrivenham, generally described below. It covers a huge area around, including over the border in Wiltshire.

List of Wills made by people far and wide

List of Baptisms by many parishes. There is a huge list for Coleshill from 1559 to 1720. It gives the child's name, the father and the date.

Berkshire Marriage Licences from the Court of the Bishop of Sarum. Contains Faringdon from 1589 - 1634.

Quaker Records. Marriages, Burials etc. Covers a large area as far away as Abingdon and Wantage.

Uffington 24/1/1676. 'John, son of a strange woman (supposed to be borne in Alscott, Oxon, but brought to Longcott, Berks, and from thence to Uffington and in ye night time by two women of Longcott layd at ye door of Richard Deane, Mason of Uffington), which child was sent to Alscott again to be kept.'
