This box formerly contained an assortment of documents that had slowly accrued from the middle of the 19th century. As a lining for the bottom of the box, there is a Newspaper, The Daily Telegraph (of course) dated Saturday May 23rd 1925.
The contents of the box have now been removed and are catalogued as a 'Collection' within the Archives of the Shrivenham Heritage Centre under C4.Char.
The Strongbox is now stored complete with Newspaper lining within the Display Cabinet in the Heritage Centre.
