The Parsonage Farm, Watchfield

This listing is the result of research carried out by Neil B. Maw of Shrivenham Heritage Society, whereby documents at the RBA in Reading, revealed that the site of Watchfield House was in the 17th and 18th centuries the Parsonage Farm of Watchfield, the place  where due Tithes should be paid. The photo album was compiled by Mel A G Veal who lived in Watchfield House between 1976 and 1984 before moving to Abingdon. Several of the photos recorded here are very useful in showing some of the historical points of the village, eg, The Royal Oak pub, now demolished; the gate-way of the old airfield.
