Shrivenham Census for 1861

The year of 1861 was an interesting year and could easily be described as Victorian England at its peak. One only has to look at Page 15 of the census to see the numbers and status of the people who were within Beckett House on the day the Census Commissioner called.

For speed of reference we have included an alphabetical list of those people who appear on the census. For more detail please go to the individual page transcriptions. We have also included the original pages courtesy of the Berkshire County Archives in PDF format.

By comparing this census with other sources we have available to us, we have been able to pinpoint some of the properties, or where they formerly stood, and we have included this information on the transcriptions. If you have any information that might enable us to locate more then please contact us on info@shrivenhamheritagesociety.co.uk

For the Alphabetical List please go HERE Please note that this is a basic list. For more information, please go to the individual pages either transcription or original.
