The White Horse at Uffington Downs carved cira 3300 BCE. An extract from a photo taken by Neil B. Maw

The White Horse looked down

This book is a little enigmatic in that we don't know exactly when it was written. The author is a British woman who was in the Auxiliary Air Force and must have been at RAF Watchfield in 1942. Her birth name was Parker and with her first marriage became Boyd. Her second marriage was to Curtis Mann who was a Colonel in the US army. The book contains accurate descriptions of Shrivenham and district as well as Oxford, and also three love affairs, one of which seems to have been the catalyst of the book. It has been transcribed into digital format as a PDF file and can be read and downloaded by going HERE
