Caleb Colton was the Vicar of Shrivenham from 1733 and seemed to have been so until circa 1770, when his son Barfoot Colton took over from him. Caleb died in 1785 aged 85 years and Barfoot in 1803 aged 67 years. They were both interred in the East part of the graveyard at St Andrew's, Shrivenham, probably in a family vault. There are three large box memorials all inscribed of those two and also one for Rev William Collins Colton who was Barfoot's son. The Will of Barfoot Colton showed that he was a wealthy man and owned a lot of property.
