Highways of Fernham Survey book

Although this book is quite fragile, when considered that it was used for nearly 100 years, it is in remarkable condition. It's also remarkable that such a small parish should have paid so much attention to it's highways. It may be that all parish's had a similar set up but their books have not survived. This book starts in 1774 and lists the accounts as noted by two local surveyors up to 1860. They note as they go where the money was spent and to whom. There is very little in the way of any narrative so it is a somewhat tedious read.
