Emergency Planning Advice from 1960s

In the 1960s, the tensions between Russia and the west were at a very low point and described as a 'Cold War.' Being a nuclear power, it was felt that there was a strong possibility of an attack on the UK and consequently every parish council was issued with advice of what to do in the event of such an attack.
