Drawings of Shrivenham from the Great Tithe of 1843

Shrivenham Local History Society, and indeed the village of Shrivenham, were fortunate to have had the late Roy Selwood as a, 'local man.' His skill with pen and ink was much admired and Shrivenham Heritage Society now has several of his drawings in their care. The two shown here are Roy's interpretations of the original map and apportionment of the great survey of 1843-4 and are not only very accurate but also clear, and enable a close study of Shrivenham and the surrounding fields with ease. We have high resolution scans of these two drawings in the SHS Digital Vault, a copy of which is available upon request.
